The Speed Project 2025: A Photographic Journal

Birthed from our Wednesday morning speedwork sessions, the seeds of our TSP team blossomed into a beautiful journey of runners grinding through the summer months, building connections and comradery, to ultimately grinding out for 340 miles of road through the desert from LA to Las Vegas.

Runners and crews gather up at the Santa Monica Pier just before take off. The race starts at 4 AM on Friday and ends when racers get to the "Welcome to Las Vegas" Sign.

Sara Michael and Captain Kira embrace at the Santa Monica Pier.

The Wacky Guys meet! Oyinda Omoloja is there in the pink with Kira Wisniewski in yellow.

The full crew at the Santa Monica Pier just minutes before takeoff.

ATCR Relay comes together to take off and plan before Jared goes off on the first leg.

Lupe Bobadilla cheers on every runner that goes by our rest point which in this case was a McDonald's parking lot in San Fernando. We were waiting for Lauren Chin, but didn't realize the road split a little earlier and she went right past us. That was our first mixup on the road, and it was just a few hours in.

Oyinda cheering on another runner in the Wacky Guys suit somewhere in Soledad Canyon.

Kenneth Taylor running a leg somewhere outside of Palmdale, CA. At this point we had a warning about a wild or stray dog coming in the TSP chat every few minutes and one runner had already been bit on the leg. Kenneth had the trekking poles as a deterrent in case he ran into any unfriendly canines on the road.
